Girl Child & Menstrual Health
World Menstrual Hygiene Day – School Outreach (Karmo)
On 16th August 2022, the Kuro-Wari Global Foundation commemorated World Menstrual Hygiene Day through a school outreach aligned with the theme "Making menstruation a normal fact of life by 2030." The outreach began at Junior Secondary School, Karmo, Abuja, where over 200 girls participated, divided into two groups for interactive sessions on the female menstrual cycle and proper hygiene, debunking common myths along the way.
Menstrual pads were distributed as part of the intervention. We are grateful to our sponsor, Besense Sanitary Pads, for their generous support, and to our dedicated mentors — Barr. Chisom Onyema, Eno Bassey, Ritabella Onyemenam, Uchechi Daniel, Ngozi Dimkpa, Onyinye, and Barr. Ese Omotayo.
