On 3rd April 2020, the Kuro-Wari Global Foundation carried out a welfare outreach providing food support to vulnerable households affected by the COVID-19 lockdown. Through funds raised, the Foundation supported 66 families with curated food packs sourced at a subsidized rate of ₦2,000 per pack, each containing rice, garri, beans, tinned tomatoes, vegetable oil and ground pepper.
KWGF partnered with HMI Nigeria247, an organization with longstanding presence in the community through its free education initiatives, whose deep knowledge of the area enabled accurate identification of widows, the elderly and single mothers in urgent need. Despite movement restrictions, KWGF team members who were essential workers with valid permits ensured successful distribution of the relief materials.
