The Kuro-Wari dream all began with our first visit to the Abuja Children's Home in Karu. In the spirit of Valentine, the Kuro-Wari Global Team decided to have a fun day with the kids and share supplies with the children as well as party packs. As part of the team's effort at sensitization, we had professionals in the medical field, like Dr Emeka Nzenwata, give a talk on personal hygiene as a mode of disease prevention.
Our hearts were drawn to the kids at the Abuja Children's Home that we made efforts to pay another visit a few months later, this time more equipped with both knowledge and gift packs. We split the kids into groups to discuss the nitty gritty of growing up, sexual awareness and child abuse. We thank our dedicated members who facilitated this visit: Uche Ezukosi, Emeka Nzenwata, Timothy Igwe, Tochukwu Onyekwulum, Miebaka Nyanabo and Johnson Okoro.
Our third visit to the home was an entirely different package altogether. We had an engaging session with the teenagers and taught them the importance of imbibing values and self-esteem, and as usual we didn't fall short with the gift packs.
