No More Limits! – Menstrual Hygiene Day School Outreach

📅 28 May 2018 📍 Anglican Girls Grammar School, Apo & Government Secondary School, Mabuchi

To mark International Menstrual Hygiene Day, we visited the Anglican Girls Grammar School, Apo, and the Government Secondary School, Mabuchi. Research shows girls miss twenty percent of their school year due to lack of information on managing their menstrual flow and lack of sanitary products — the solution began with educating the girl child on Menstrual Hygiene Management, led by Mrs Ngozi.

The visit opened with an educative session on the reproductive organs by Mrs Ibiene Nyanabo, helping the girls understand menstruation as a healthy process for normal reproductive health. Mrs Ify Ekanem handled the question-and-answer session, which drew many questions from the girls, and the team held one-on-one counselling for a thorough understanding of womanhood. The visit ended with a giveaway of sanitary towel supplies to all the girls.
