Menstrual Hygiene Outreach – Abuja (2023)

📅 11 June 2023 📍 Abuja 👥 About 100 teenage girls engaged

On 11th June 2023, the Kuro-Wari Global Foundation carried out a menstrual hygiene outreach aimed at addressing period poverty and stigma among teenage girls in underserved communities. The initiative set out to support 300 girls with menstrual hygiene kits and education; while this target was not fully reached, the team successfully engaged about 100 teenage girls in meaningful conversations around menstrual health, addressing stigma, myths and taboos, and encouraging confidence and self-worth.

Each girl received a hygiene pack containing sanitary pads, detergent, bathing soap and deodorant. We are grateful to our dedicated mentors, including Miebaka Nyanabo, Shalom Ogbueli, Eno Bassey, Chinasa, Ozioma Amaechi, Dr. Ruth Bassey, Favour, and others. Though the initial goal was not fully achieved, the impact remains significant — changing lives one girl at a time.
