Girls' Menstrual Hygiene Conferences – “Period Proud”
Delivered under the "Period Proud: Breaking Silence, Building Confidence" campaign theme, the Kuro-Wari Global Foundation held three Girls' Menstrual Hygiene Conferences in 2026: Government Science and Technical College (GSTC), Garki, on menstrual health, puberty, reproductive health, self-esteem and counselling (23 May); Community Staff School, Asokoro, on menstrual hygiene, identity, safeguarding and emotional wellbeing (9 June); and Junior Secondary School, Karmo-Sabo, on menstrual health, confidence building, mentorship and hygiene support (16 June).
Across the three conferences, the programme reached about 1,300 girls, delivered comprehensive education on menstrual hygiene, puberty, reproductive health and emotional wellbeing, distributed menstrual hygiene materials and personal care supplies, and mobilised over 60 female professionals and volunteers, including healthcare practitioners, counsellors, educators and mentors.
