COVID-19 Sensitization & Welfare Outreach – Mpape

📅 30 March 2020 📍 Jikoko & Ajegunle communities, Mpape, Abuja 👥 Over 400 people reached

On 30th March 2020, the Kuro-Wari Global Foundation carried out a COVID-19 sensitization and welfare outreach in Jikoko and Ajegunle communities, Mpape, Abuja. Our medical team educated community members on the pandemic, with emphasis on handwashing, hygiene and environmental sanitation as key preventive measures.

The outreach was originally planned to support 120 vulnerable women, including widows, single mothers and the physically challenged. Upon arrival, the team was met with a crowd of over 400 people, highlighting the urgent and overwhelming need within the community; relief materials were carefully repackaged to reach as many individuals and families as possible. Foodstuffs were distributed to households whose livelihoods had been affected by the lockdown, and the outreach was strengthened by a donation of antiseptic soaps and disinfectants from the Brunch and Bond Community.
